Easter Festivities and Rockies Opening Day

We celebrated Easter with the Marsh family a week early since Rick and Kathie went to Oklahoma over Easter weekend.  It's always a blast getting all 6 of the grandkids together!

Carter showing Payton and Dalton the ropes now that he's mobile!
Riley and Owen had matching swords.  Not very Easter-y, but they had fun with them!
Predictably, Carter was more interested in the bag that his Easter gifts from Grandma came in than what was actually in the bag.
Oh yeah, it was my birthday too.  We were recovering from the '70s flashback party the night before.  Little did we know that later on that evening, we'd be ravaged by a nasty stomach virus that took down 11 party goers.  I've named it The Polyester Plague of 1974.
Steve's recovery from the night before included sleeping on the floor while the boys walked on his back.
We did a little egg dyeing, too!
Gavin and Dalton lookin' sharp in their vests and hats!  The hats were so cute, I had to get one for Carter too...
Princess Payton in her pretty pink gown!
All 6 grandkids!
Proud Grandma and Bubba!

Last Friday was Rockies Opening Day.  Riley has not missed an Opening Day game since he was 3 weeks old!  Usually I go too, but since I have no more personal leave, I didn't get to.  I actually ended up having to stay home with Carter, who was sick.  Riley and Steve were so excited for the game!  They went with our good friends, the Evans family.  The twins, Ty and Tanner, are Riley's best buddies!
The morning started off at Gunther Toody's for breakfast.  Carter and I got to tag along!

Then off to downtown to cheer on the Rocks!1-2-3...
GO ROCKIES!

Afro-robo Rockies guy....I don't think the twins were too excited about him!
No trip to the ballpark would be complete without blue cotton candy!!

Right after the Rockies game, we headed to Colorado Springs to spend Easter weekend with my parents.

Nice bath helmet!
We did some more egg decorating!
Me and my pop!
Carter and Riley have almost the same expression on their faces!
Fancy crazy eggs!
The Easter Bunny brought an Army Easter basket!
Remember I said I had to get a cute hat for Carter?  Can you take it??

My two handsome boys!
I can't believe how big Riley is getting.

Family pic time!
Gran-Gran and General love their boys.

Lookin' money!
We had brunch at the Garden of the Gods Country Club by my parent's house.  It was delicious!  They even had a kids' buffet set up down low where kids could reach.  It had chicken fingers, mac and cheese, jell-o, fluffernutter sandwiches and cookies!  What a great idea!
That is one huge rabbit!
Egg hunt at Gran and General's house!  Riley found all 31 eggs!

Lots of Easter fun!!

That 70's House...

For my birthday, Steve, Charline and the gang threw me a "Welcome to 1974" party.  It was hilarious!  I have the best hubby and friends ever!  We had a great time, as usual.  I'm such a lucky woman!
Yes, that says Birt-Day.  Poor Charline was feverishly making these signs at school while teaching at the same time.  Slight distractions like 8 classes of elementary school kiddos interfere with spelling.  Funny thing is, I thought it was intentional, since she's from the East Coast, I thought she was writing it phonetically!
The invitation...
Brandon's costume was classic.
Creepy, huh?
But put Brandon and Steve together, and you have got one big polyester nightmare!  I absolutely LOVE this picture.  They are SO sleazy!!
Red and Kitty Foreman?  Justin actually grew out and purposefully groomed his facial hair.  That's true friendship!
I love the Lanes.
We are DY-NO-MIIIITE!  In case you were wondering, yes, that is a jumpsuit, yes it is metallic and made out of spandex.  You, too, can purchase one at Party America.  Imagine my surprise when Steve handed it to me and said, "You have to wear this for the party."
I know....we are SO hot.
Kristen and her boy Chris!
La and her boyfriend!
Sterne and Lisa.  Lisa's shirt was awesome...it was yellow with a green iron-on outline of the Golden Girls, and said "Stay Golden!"
Zach was a Bumblebee, which was evidently from a Blues Brothers sketch that I'm not familiar with.  Gotta give him props for this, though, he made a stop at the post office on his way to the party!
This is just wrong.  Check out Carter's expression...
Grrrr!  Game face!
Dead sexy.
The gang!  I'm so lucky to have such amazing friends who are willing to chuck their dignity out the door to dress up for my birthday!
Nothing good can come of this.
Later in the evening, the costumes became more...creative.  Yes, Steve is wearing the white velcro tennis shoes from the Richard Simmons costume.
Afro-Puffs!
Of course, poker!
I am older than Tiger Woods.
Steve's co-worker, Maurice, and his girlfriend Brooke came up.  Brooke has never actually seen Steve in normal clothes.  We've seen her 3 times, and in those three times, Steve has been wearing: Richard Simmons costume, Drinksmas Christmas sweater, '70's pimp outfit.
Thanks to everyone for an awesome birthday!!
