Squaaaaaaab!

We love the show Two and a Half Men in our house. Last night was the "Squab" episode, which is hilarious! Riley's been yelling "Squab!" all day! What is a squab, anyway?

Classic.

From the movie Beautiful Girls, Gina's diatribe about supermodels is hysterical! I admit, rather crude, but still hilarious. And so true! This movie is classic!

Fly update

The fly invasion has ceased.  The fearless warriors, armed with a purple swatter (Riley) and an orange swatter (Steve) have slain the offensive intruders.  Little fly carcasses have been swept up, scooped up, and wiped up.  I hope that if any unwelcome guests escaped to the great outdoors, they told their tale of terror to their friends, and will forever steer clear of my house!!!

Brotherly Love

Ahh...happy heart!  Riley was feeling especially lovey towards Carter today, giving lots of kisses and hugs!  He's such a good kid.
All together now...Awwwwww!!

Incidentally, after yesterday's marathon of activities beginning with being locked out in the yard from 9-12 for housecleaning; a visit from mom's dogs, Aretha and Taylor; and chasing the kids around for hours, both Harley and Melo have not been seen today.  They are sleeping upstairs.  On our bed.  All day.  We had to call them down to go outside!  They're exhausted!

Damn Flies!!!

AAAAHHH!! GRRRR!!!  UUUUGGGHHH!  On Friday there were 3 fllies buzzing around in my kitchen.  Super gross, right?  Well, yesterday since we had everyone over, we had the patio door open.  Patio door + yummy food on the kitchen counter + beautiful warm days/cool nights = FLY INVASION in my house!  As the day progressed, it became like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie.  Seriously.  I HATE flies!  It was so bad that even Charline, a.k.a. St. Francis incarnate, was ok with mass fly eradication.  So everyone was swatting with towels, rolled up magazines, and the damn things were mocking us.

This morning I got about 10 of them.  Steve and Riley got on their protective gear and began hunting flies and got about 10 more.  But they still insist upon divebombing us with their creepy little feet and hexagonal eyes.  UGH!!!!  Steve is currently at the store buying flypaper.  I won't spray around the kids, so flypaper it is!
They're professionals!
Shoo fly, don't bother me!!!

Silly Monkeys!

Yesterday we had a big day planned!  Soccer at noon, followed by a bbq with our friends and family who came to watch soccer.  Well, unbeknownst to us, soccer was cancelled due to wet fields.  So we had a nice little stroll down to the field and back... but the BBQ was still on!  Mom and dad came up from the Springs, Rick and Kathie came up, as well as Brad, Nicole and Owen. We also had Charline and Justin, the Evans family and the Asnicar family, so it was a party!  It was a gorgeous day, and gorgeous 70-degree Saturdays will be coming to an end soon, so we had to take advantage of it!

The kiddos had a great time.  We discovered that punch balloons are a great way to get aggression out!

Getting a picture of the 4 Musketeers is another exercise in herding cats!  They are way too funny!  It was hysterical how as soon as Bayley arrived, she took charge like the Pied Piper, even though she hasn't seen the boys in months!
Three-year-old Hide and Seek is ridiculous!  Here is Ty, hiding in the hole that Melo dug.  Another favorite hiding place was the soccer goal, with hands covering the eyes.  Too funny!!!
Love those kids!

Smile for the day

Just a little cuteness for the day.  Look at that face!!!  Don't know how we got so lucky to have such beautiful boys...

Birthday Mania!

The first week of September is a busy birthday week!  Both Owen and our buddy Ethan have their birthdays on the 5th, Owen being exactly one year older than Ethan!  Saturday we went to Ethan's party, and today we had Deja Vu at Owen's party!  Here are some pics from Owen's party (I forgot to take pictures at Ethan's!)

Carter getting some yums!  His bib says, "Chicks Dig Me!"
Pinata time!
Followed by birthday cake, of course.
It was a beautiful day!
The best part was the Pirates of the Caribbean Jumping Castle.  It had a slide and everything!  At Ethan's party they had the same castle, but it was Batman!  Now of course, Riley wants to know if we can have one for his birthday in March...I think it would take up our entire back yard!

Steve couldn't resist getting in with the kids!

Dog-pile!  Watch your parts, Steve!
Three boys, full of beans!
I love that E-Dog is stealthily posing for the picture too!
Carter's little man jeans!  The shirt is the same shirt Riley wore for his first pictures.  I didn't get the cute shoes he was wearing, which Taylor Welling picked out for him!  I'll try to get them next time!
That is one tuckered out 3 year old!

Me and my Boys!

Just a fun pic from Saturday night.  I love my boys!!!

Fall Soccer Begins!

I LOVE Preschool soccer.  If you want to see pure joy and fun for the sake of fun, come to a preschool soccer game!  They have no idea what they're doing, but it's a blast!  And that's all that matters, really!

Fall soccer started on Saturday, and Riley is on the same team as Ty and Tanner.  So exciting!  The boys could hardly contain themselves!  For our first game, we played against two other kiddos from Bright Horizons, Leila and Thomas.  The kids had so much fun!

Below, Coach Jason gives the kids a pep talk before practice.
One of the twins playing "anatomy ball."  The kids had to dribble the ball around, and then coach would tell them to stop and put a certain body part on the ball.  It was hilarious!
Do you think Riley was enjoying himself????
Kickoff!
At one point, Riley just decided to chase Thomas (on the other team) around in a bear crawl.  Had nothing to do with soccer.  Again, hilarious.
Towards the end of the game the coaches gave up just having 4 kids on the field at a time from each team, and everyone got to play.  It was a free for all!
Too much fun!
