Riley and I went to the Butterfly Pavilion today! It's this really neat..museum kinda thingy. They have an insect room, where people braver than Riley and I can hold a tarantula named Rosie. And then there's the "Wings of the Tropics" exhibit, where thousands of butterfiles are zooming around with tropical plants and flowers. It's amazing! Sorry for the sideways pics! I still haven't been able to figure out how to rotate them on this thing. I swear they're rightside up on my computer! :)

Taking a moment to stop and smell the hibiscus...this was a beautiful flower!

Riley loved watching the butterflies fly around, as long as they didn't get too close!

Spectacular flowers!

I don't know what kind of butterfly this is, but it's cool!

The joy of being a two year old...everything is REALLY fun!
There is a husband and wife artist team doing a program called Projectinsect.com at the Pavilion. They do bug talks and are both artists. The wife, Jessa, has huge, intricately detailed paintings of insects on display at the Pavilion and also at the Botanical Gardens. They were painting bug tattoos on the kids! Since Riley's not a big fan of creepy crawlies, he wanted a "Boy Butterfly," which we decided was blue!

We had a great time just hanging out today!
